Frenkelhaus Museum

The "Frenkel" house holds the permanent exhibition depicting the history of Jewish community in Lemgo. The collection consists of the artifacts from their religious and everyday lives.

The house itself is a part of Lemgo’s Jewish history as it was built at the turn of the century by the Jewish family Frenkel to be used as both a house and a place of business. The only member of the family who survived the holocaust, Carla Raveh (Fenkel) is an honorary member of the town of Lemgo.

The city has been in control of the house since 1988 and in the back of the house, there are studios and apartments for students who have received art scholarships from the city of Lemgo.
